Emraan Hashmi calls Akshay Kumar 'Farishta'

The teaser for Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's upcoming film Selfiee was launched on Sunday. The actors that attended the trailer releasing event spoke with the media about a variety of subjects. Speaking about his time working with Akshay Kumar, Emraan reflected on the time he supported his family through a difficult moment.

When his son was battling illness, Akshay was the first to phone Emraan Hashmi. For assisting his family and son during trying times, he called him as Farishta. Ayaan had a first-stage cancer diagnosis in 2014, and after undergoing years of treatment and chemotherapy, he was declared cancer-free in 2019.

Emraan Hashmi confessed that he loved Akshay Kumar and had been a fan of him. He had the opportunity to get to know the actor in the recent past when his son Ayaan experienced health problems. Actor who played the murderer admitted that Kumar was the one to call and support his family. "A lot of people surround you in your good times, but bure waqt mein jo farishtey aate hai that's Akshay Kumar," the actor said when referring to his co-star.

In the soon-to-be-released film Selfiee by Raj Mehta, the two are now cast together. In the movie, Akshay, who plays a superstar, squares off against Emraan, who plays an RTO officer.
