Animal Cast Fees: Ranbir Kapoor charged Rs 70 crore, check out how much fees other cast charged

Renowned filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga made waves in December 2020 when he revealed plans to make ‘Animal,’ a movie starring Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. The countdown began on November 23, 2023, when the teaser was released on T-Series’ YouTube channel. In just 21 hours, it racked up an astounding 49 million views and 881K likes.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga created a 3-minute, 33-second teaser for ‘Animal,’ defying the convention of short trailers and deftly preserving the mystery surrounding the characters and plot. The opening scene of the trailer, which featured Ranbir Kapoor's intense dialogue, "Sunai dera hain, behra nahin hu main," struck a chord with viewers and caused a stir on social media.

Two noteworthy performances surfaced as movie critics, YouTubers, and fans analyzed the trailer: Bobby Deol's captivating presence and Ranbir Kapoor's potent portrayal of Arjun Balbir Singh. Among the most eagerly awaited movies of the year, ‘Animal’ has the potential to be a box office hit.

Fans are excited about the star-studded cast, which features rising star Tripti Dimri from ‘Qala,’ veteran actors Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, and Suresh Oberoi in addition to the lead pair.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly spent about Rs. 100 crores on ‘Animal,’ a substantial investment. The cast was assembled with a large portion of the budget, with Ranbir Kapoor reportedly commanding a hefty fee of Rs. 70 crores. While official confirmation was awaited, contradictory reports from October 2023 suggested a renegotiation that would have reduced his fee to Rs. 35 crores.

Bobby Deol, who is supposed to be the antagonist in the movie, on the other hand, was paid a paltry Rs. 4-5 crores, which is fourteen times less than what Kapoor was paid. The ensemble also included contributions from Anil Kapoor (Rs. 2 crores) and Rashmika Mandanna (Rs. 4 crores).

‘Animal’ has received an "A" certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), according to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Discussions concerning the film's possible hyper-violence have been triggered by its intense scenes, especially the one in which Ranbir Kapoor's character chokes his on-screen wife Rashmika Mandanna. This has led to comparisons to Vanga's earlier film, ‘Kabir Singh.’

Fans are embracing Animal's expected violent storyline with excitement, having long awaited a gritty and intense Bollywood film. As he stated in previous interviews, Sandeep Vanga is dedicated to presenting unvarnished and powerful storytelling, and it appears that this will appeal to viewers who are ready to see stories that deviate from the norm.
