ECI asks to set up control room to monitor poll expenditure

Jaipur: The Central Election Commission is reviewing election preparations. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey and Election Commissioner Arun Goyal reviewed the election preparations. On the second day on Saturday, Chief Electoral Officer, State Police Nodal Officer held a meeting with nodal officers of the Central Police Force. A meeting with District Election Officers, Inspectors General of Police, District SP and officials will also be held.
Commissioners of all divisions and Inspector General of police ranges are also present in the meeting. A district wise review of preparations for assembly elections is on. Officials told the EC that there are 42 booths with more than 1500 voters. “There are three booths with more than 1600 voters. Auxiliary polling stations will be set up here.”
The Election Commission has given instructions to immediately activate the control room for monitoring election expenditure and has also given instructions to strictly monitor transportation of liquor, drugs, cash and freebies in the state.
