The elections for the 6 municipal corporations of the capital Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota (Municipal Corporation elections), along with the BJP and the Congress, have also taken the lead. Apart from National Democratic Party, Aam Aadmi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in these elections.
However, so far no party, including BJP and Congress, has released any list of their candidates. Due to this, the work of nomination is going on very sluggish now. In all 6 municipal corporations, only one independent candidate has filed his nomination papers. Right now, the contenders are busy pushing the leaders of the ticket.
BSP state president Bhagwan Singh Baba said that the party will field its candidates in Jaipur, Jodhpur and all the municipal corporations of Kota. According to Baba, the party performed well in the civic elections held 1 year ago. In the various districts, 24 party councilors won. This time too, the party will contest the elections with full force. The party has started taking applications from interested contenders for the election.
It is worth mentioning that the process of filling the nomination papers has started for municipal elections from October 14, two days ago. But so far no party has released the list of candidates.
Therefore, the task of filling the nomination papers has not caught up. The last date for filing the prescription is 19 October. Due to holiday on October 18, candidates will not be able to submit nomination papers. Elections of 6 corporations of the three cities will be held in 2 phases on October 29 and November 1. The nomination papers will be examined on October 20.
