The triple lockdown became effective from 5 pm on Monday in Ponnani Taluk and bordering regions, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said while making the declaration. The choice comes as 69 new coronavirus positive cases were accounted for in the area in the previous three days.
Addressing the media in Thiruvanathapuram, Pinarayi Vijayan said that triple lockdown in Ponnani Taluk and abutting regions will be set up till July 6. Pinarayi Vijayan said mass testing will be done in Edappal and Ponnani.
