The IMA published a list of 382 doctors on Wednesday and demanded that they be given a 'martyr' status. The doctors' body said that it was like "abandoning national heroes who stand up for our people and back from duty".
A senior IMA official said that according to IMA Covid-19 data on 16 September, 2,238 doctors have been infected with the disease so far, of which 382 have died. It said, 'We demand that they be given martyr status'.
