Jaipur: CS DB Gupta chaired an important meeting to discuss the ways and means to transfer maximum benefit to various sections of society as envisaged in the Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package announced by the central government. CS took up the discussion according to sector-wise announcements made for banking, industry, food, agriculture and other sectors.
The CS gave instructions to the finance department officials to analyse the package in-depth to ensure benefit to the common men. Rs 15,000 crore allocated for PM Garib Kalyan Yojna was taken up which includes Rs 10,025 crore for female Jan Dhan account holders.
Extra allocation for MGNREGA was also made for Panchayati Raj department. The package has Rs 16,394 crore for Agriculture, Rs 2,807 crore for Social Empowerment and Rs 3,950 crore for Labour departments.
CS DB Gupta gave instructions to respective department officials to exercise and try to transfer benefits from schemes. CS asked the concerned department officials to study the relevant features thoroughly to take maximum benefit from the package.
The meeting also discussed implementation of ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme. The next meeting by CS, in all probability, will concentrate of reforms to executed to increase the state borrowing limit from existing 3% to 5% of SGDP. Since these will have both financial and political ramifications, decisions will be taken at highest level.
