Coronavirus: counting the case of India crossed 1.12 lakh with 11,220 new cases in 48 hours

Maharashtra continued worst hit state in India. Now it has 39 297 cases, 10 318 recovery and 1,390 deaths. Country followed by Tamil Nadu (13 191 cases), Gujarat (12 537 cases) and Delhi (11 088 cases).

 

India has reported more than 5,600 new Covid-19 case for the second day in a row. In the last 24 hours, 5,611 cases were reported in the country, taking the overall tally of 1,12,359 cases.

In the latest bulletin on Covid-19 situation in the country, the Union health ministry said a total of 3,435 people have died since Covid-19 in India so far, while 45,300 had been recovered.

According to Health Ministry data, Maharashtra is the only state to have more than 15,000 cases. There are three states (Delhi, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu) in which case the counting range between 10,000 and 15,000.

In addition, 11 countries had cases ranging between 1,000 and 10,000.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the health ministry Union said the rate of recovery between them have tested positive for Covid-19 has increased to nearly 40 percent, from about 7 percent before the lockdown began on March 25. It also says that support the hospital needed less than seven per patient per cent.

During a press conference on the situation Covid-19, Joint Secretary Ministry of Health Lav Agarwal said the current recovery rate stood at 39.62 percent while it was 7.1 percent at the beginning lockdown.

National Lockdown originally imposed for a period of 21 days until April 14, but then got extended till May 3 in the second stage and then to the third phase of another 14-day until May 17. A long two-week fourth phase is now underway through May 31, but with some restrictions have been relaxed to boost economic activity.
